Darren visited us prior to any works being carried and out and discussed all the options and offered some alternatives that worked really well.
It was clear that he understood what we wanted to achieve and the work began! Throughout the 16 weeks we were fully aware of what Darren and his team were doing, where they were up to and what was happening next. They were clean, tidy and respectful to neighbours and other trades on site..

"Darren and Contracts Northwest were recommended to us by our architect following a tendering process arranged by him. The project was to take a fairly standard 1970’s house back to bare brickwork, extend to the rear and then rebuild to create a large contemporary home to match our specific requirements.
The build was further complicated by the fact that the house was to be inverted to take advantage of scenic views by having the living areas on the upper floor. The work was to be carried out to the architect's plans and specifications and overseen for us by a project manager. The original contract period was 12 weeks but this was extended to 16 due to weather delays and some supply problems.
Overall we were very pleased not only by the standard of work carried out by Darren and his workers/contractors but also by the friendly and helpful attitude of both him and them. This was especially welcome as we had to move in before the revised contract end date, due to the sale of our previous property, and this caused some logistical problems for him. Naturally not absolutely everything on the contract ran perfectly smoothly, such a thing is not possible, but we were pleased to find that any issues that did arise were all settled amicably either between him and the architect/project manager or ourselves.
We have no hesitation in recommending him to others."

"We were introduced to Contracts NW by our project manager following a tendering process. We were looking to fully renovate our new property, creating a large kitchen diner with doors onto the garden, building a utility room and w/c extension and changing the room layout upstairs to develop a master suite with walk through wardrobes and ensuite shower room. It was a bigger project than we had initially realised and we were grateful for the expertise and professionalism of Darren and his team in turning the plans into reality within a 4 month timescale.
We were very keen to retain the art deco character of the property and to retain original features and the Contracts NW team took great care to achieve this. We were impressed with the quality of the tradespeople employed on the build and very satisfied with the standard of their work. Darren was approachable and proactive, driving the project forward by co-ordinating the trades and supplies. He was always thinking ahead to the next stage of the build and this ensured that they made great progress.
I'd like to thank Darren for all his efforts to get the project completed, despite the difficulties caused by Covid-19. He went above and beyond to obtain supplies and to enable us to move into the property. I would recommend Contracts NW to anyone looking for a competent and trustworthy building team."

"We commissioned the team from Contracts North West to undertake a tricky steel beam replacement project. We’re situated on the Promenade in Blackpool and the old steel beams had corroded over the years to the point where they were potentially dangerous. Just to complicate matters the beams were three storeys up at the front of the building, supporting the third floor.
Right from the first meeting Darren, Barrie and the team were confident, reassuring and realistic about the problems we faced. In conjunction with our structural engineer, they developed a working plan to support the building while the old beams were removed and the new ones inserted. As can be imagined this required a lot of internal disruption with ceilings being removed so that props could be inserted, and on the day the beams were transferred they also organised a very large crane.
Prior to each stage of the work the areas were well protected from dust and debris. Once the new beams were in place they put everything back as it was, re-plastered all the ceilings, replaced kitchens and to be honest it was almost as though they hadn’t been there. The work itself was undertaken very methodically and efficiently which meant that the project came in both on time and on budget.

"Works included taking down the ceiling in the loft conversion and fitting insulation, removing part of a partition wall and fitting insulation in the loft-space and insulating the sides. And finally re-plastering both ceiling and wall.
All the work commenced and was completed on the same day with all of the waste removed and the workmen cleaned upon completion.
The plasterwork is excellent and smooth."

"Contracts Northwest were appointed as principal contractor to carry out extensive alterations and modifications to an existing two-story retail building on Blackpool Promenade.
​
The works involved the creation of openings for the installation of new escalators, a complete internal fit-out with associated shop-fitting works to the restaurant, a new customer toilet block, themed amusement areas and refurbishment of offices.
